Ingredients
For the Donuts:
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
- ½ cup milk (or buttermilk)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Strawberry Glaze:
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh strawberry puree (blended strawberries)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 teaspoons milk (if needed, for consistency)
For Decoration (Optional):
- Heart-shaped sprinkles
- Freeze-dried strawberry crumbs
- White chocolate drizzle
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prep
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a donut pan with nonstick spray.
Step 2: Make the Donut Batter
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined (don’t overmix!).
Step 3: Fill & Bake
- Spoon or pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold ¾ full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Step 4: Make the Strawberry Glaze
- In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and vanilla extract.
- If too thick, add 1 teaspoon of milk at a time until smooth.
Step 5: Glaze & Decorate
- Dip cooled donuts into the strawberry glaze and place on a wire rack.
- Sprinkle with heart-shaped sprinkles, freeze-dried strawberries, or drizzle with white chocolate.
- Let set for 10 minutes, then serve and enjoy!
Notes
Use Fresh Strawberries – Adds the best natural sweetness and flavor.
For Extra Moisture – Add 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt to the batter.
For a Deeper Pink Color – Add a drop of pink or red food coloring to the glaze.
Make Them Ahead – Bake the donuts a day ahead and glaze before serving.
