Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Do not grease your baking sheets; the cookies need a non-greased surface to stick slightly and hold their shape.
Step 2: Make the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This takes about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using) until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Step 3: Shape the Cookies
- Load the dough into a cookie press or a piping bag fitted with your desired tip.

Step 4: Bake
