Ingredients

Scale

For the Meat Sauce:

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey

  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Cheese Mixture:

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (or ricotta if preferred)

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

For Assembly:

  • 1 bag (25 oz) frozen cheese ravioli (no need to thaw)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (for topping)

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Meat Sauce

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned.

  2. Drain excess fat if needed, then add garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  3. Stir in the marinara sauce and let simmer for 5–7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Cheese Filling
4. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
5. Mix until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Step 3: Assemble the Casserole
6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
7. Spread 1 cup of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
8. Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce.
9. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the ravioli.
10. Pour half of the remaining meat sauce over the cheese layer.
11. Repeat the layers: remaining ravioli, remaining cheese mixture, and top with the rest of the sauce.
12. Sprinkle 1 cup shredded mozzarella evenly on top.

Step 4: Bake the Casserole
13. Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil.
14. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
15. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve
16. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for color and freshness.
17. Serve warm with garlic bread and a green salad.

Notes

Use Frozen Ravioli – No need to thaw; it cooks perfectly in the oven.
Mix Cheeses – Combining cream cheese, cottage cheese, and mozzarella gives that “million dollar” creamy texture.
Add Veggies – Stir in spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini to the layers for added nutrition.
Make Ahead – Assemble up to 1 day in advance, then cover and refrigerate until ready to bake.
Double It – Make one for dinner and freeze another for later!
