Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or slices (or use baby carrots)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Carrots

  1. Place the carrots in a large skillet and add just enough water to cover them.
  2. Bring the water to a boil, reduce the heat to medium, and simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until the carrots are just tender.
  3. Drain the water and set the carrots aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Glaze

  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the honey (or maple syrup), brown sugar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

Step 3: Combine and Cook

  1. Add the cooked carrots back to the skillet, tossing them in the glaze.
  2. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are well-coated and the glaze thickens slightly.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

  1. Transfer the glazed carrots to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Choose Fresh Carrots: Opt for firm, bright orange carrots for the best flavor.
