  • 1 lb potato gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (for extra richness)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Gnocchi

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.

Step 2: Make the Tomato Sauce

  1. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring until smooth.

Step 3: Add Gnocchi & Cheese

  1. Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet, stirring to coat in the sauce.
  2. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly on top.

Step 4: Bake Until Bubbly

  1. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

Use Fresh Gnocchi – If possible, fresh gnocchi gives the best texture.
