Ingredients
- 1 lb potato gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- ½ cup heavy cream (for extra richness)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Gnocchi
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Tomato Sauce
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring until smooth.
Step 3: Add Gnocchi & Cheese
- Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet, stirring to coat in the sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
Step 4: Bake Until Bubbly
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil.
