Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye) – Tender and flavorful, perfect for slicing.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil – For searing the steak.
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning – Adds bold, smoky spice.
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste – Enhances the steak’s flavor.

For the Pasta & Sauce:

  • 12 oz fettuccine or linguine – Classic pasta choice for creamy Alfredo.
  • 2 tablespoons butter – For richness in the sauce.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced – Brings a savory, aromatic depth.
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning – For extra flavor in the sauce.
  • 1 cup heavy cream – Creates the creamy, velvety texture.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated – Melts beautifully into the sauce.
  • ½ cup milk – Helps smooth out the sauce.
  • ½ teaspoon paprika – Adds a warm, smoky touch.
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste.
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish – Adds a fresh pop of color.

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Steak

  1. Pat the steak dry with a paper towel, then season both sides with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or longer for desired doneness.
  4. Remove from the skillet and let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.

Step 3: Make the Cajun Alfredo Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in Cajun seasoning, paprika, heavy cream, and milk. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Gradually add Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  2. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to loosen it.
  3. Top with the sliced Cajun steak and garnish with chopped parsley.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!

  1. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Creamy Cajun Steak Alfredo with garlic bread or a side salad.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the steak: For the juiciest results, cook to medium-rare (135°F) or medium (145°F) and let it rest before slicing.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan: Pre-shredded cheese won’t melt as smoothly in the sauce.
  • Control the spice level: Adjust the Cajun seasoning depending on your heat preference.
  • Make it lighter: Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a slightly lighter version.
