Ingredients
For the Donuts:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup sour cream (for extra moisture)
For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
For the Vanilla Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare the Donut Pan
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease your donut pan or spray with non-stick cooking spray to ensure easy removal after baking.
Step 2: Make the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl
- In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Add the softened butter and mix it until the cinnamon-sugar mixture becomes a paste. Set aside.
Step 3: Prepare the Donut Batter
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, vanilla extract, melted butter, and sour cream until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter should be thick and fluffy.
Step 4: Assemble the Donuts
- Spoon half of the donut batter into the bottom of each donut pan cavity, filling each about halfway.

- Once the donuts are completely cooled, dip the tops of each donut into the vanilla glaze, allowing any excess glaze to drip off.
- Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving.
