Ingredients
4 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp brown sugar (or granulated sugar)
¼ tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
3 tbsp milk
1 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
¼ tsp vanilla extract
1–2 tbsp chocolate chips
Optional Toppings
Vanilla ice cream
Whipped cream
Extra chocolate chips
Sprinkle of sea salt
Instructions
Step 1: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a microwave-safe mug, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients
Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth with no lumps.
Step 3: Fold in Chocolate Chips
Gently fold in the chocolate chips, saving a few for the top if you like.
Step 4: Microwave
Microwave on high for 60–75 seconds, depending on your microwave’s wattage.
The cake should be set on top but still slightly soft and gooey inside.
Step 5: Cool & Enjoy
Let cool for 1–2 minutes before digging in. Top with ice cream, whipped cream, or more chocolate if desired.
Notes
Use a Large Mug – Leave room for the cake to rise
Don’t Overmix – Stir just until combined
Watch Closely – Overcooking can make it dry
Use Real Butter – Adds richness and flavor
Add a Scoop of Ice Cream – The warm-cold combo is magic
