- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth (or water)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce

- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional Garnishes
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Rice
- In a saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil.
- Add the rice, a pinch of salt, and olive oil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and let the rice simmer for about 15-20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
Step 2: Cook the Chicken
- While the rice is cooking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper on both sides.
- Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest for a few minutes, then slice into strips.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4: Assemble the Bowls
- Spoon a generous portion of cooked rice into each bowl.
- Top with sliced chicken and drizzle with the creamy garlic sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
Notes
Adjust the sauce consistency – If the sauce is too thick, add a splash more chicken broth or cream to reach your desired consistency.
Add some heat – For a spicy kick, sprinkle in some red pepper flakes when making the sauce.
Use bone-in chicken – Bone-in chicken thighs work great too! Just increase the cooking time by about 10 minutes.
