Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb turkey sausage
- 6 large eggs
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or biscuit dough)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
- 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning (optional, for topping)
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Turkey Sausage
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey sausage, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Scramble the Eggs
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, salt, and pepper.
- Heat butter in the skillet and pour in the eggs.
- Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the eggs are just set (they’ll continue cooking in the oven).
Step 3: Assemble the Rolls
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
- Spoon a small amount of scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and shredded cheese onto the wide end of each dough triangle.
- Roll them up tightly, starting from the wide end, and place them seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 4: Bake to Perfection
- Brush the tops of the rolls with a little milk for a golden crust.
- Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, if using.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!
- Garnish with chopped chives or parsley for a fresh touch.
- Serve warm and enjoy these cheesy, savory breakfast rolls!
Notes
- Don’t Overfill: Too much filling can make the dough hard to seal.
- Try Different Cheeses: Swap cheddar for mozzarella, Swiss, or pepper jack for variety!
- Make It Spicy: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños to the eggs.
- Use Puff Pastry: For an extra flaky, buttery texture, substitute crescent rolls with puff pastry.
