Instructions
Step 1: Hard-Boil the Eggs
-
Place the eggs in a large pot and cover with cold water by about an inch.
-
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
-
Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let sit for 10–12 minutes.
-
Transfer eggs to an ice bath to cool completely before peeling.
Step 2: Prepare the Shrimp
-
While the eggs cool, toss the shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, and garlic powder.
-
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook shrimp for about 1–2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
-
Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
Step 3: Make the Deviled Egg Filling
-
Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
-
Gently remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
-
Mash the yolks with a fork until crumbly.
-
Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
-
Mix until creamy and smooth. Use a hand mixer for an even silkier texture if desired.
Step 4: Assemble the Deviled Eggs
-
Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture into the egg white halves.
-
Top each deviled egg with one cooked shrimp.
-
Sprinkle with additional Cajun seasoning and garnish with chopped parsley or chives.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
-
Arrange the deviled eggs on a serving platter.
-
Serve immediately or chill until ready to enjoy.
Notes
Use Medium or Small Shrimp – They fit perfectly on top of the eggs.
Don’t Overcook Shrimp – They cook very quickly; keep an eye on them.
Adjust the Spice – Increase or decrease the Cajun seasoning based on your heat preference.
Use Fresh Lemon – A little citrus brightens the rich, spicy flavors.
Pipe the Filling – For a clean, professional look, use a piping bag or zip-top bag.
