- 1 tablespoon olive oil: For sautéing the shrimp.
- 2 cloves garlic, minced: Adds a flavorful kick.
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened: The creamy base of the dip.
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise: For extra creaminess.
- 1/2 cup sour cream: Balances the richness with a tangy touch.
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese: Melty and gooey when baked.
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese: Adds a savory depth of flavor.
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika: For a hint of smoky warmth.
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder: Enhances the overall flavor.
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional): For a little heat.
- Salt and pepper, to taste: Balances the flavors.
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or green onions, chopped: For garnish.
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: Sauté the Shrimp
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the shrimp and garlic, cooking until the shrimp are just pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3: Prepare the Creamy Base
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in the mozzarella, Parmesan, smoked paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Step 4: Assemble the Dip
- Fold the cooked shrimp into the creamy mixture.
- Spread the mixture evenly into an oven-safe skillet or baking dish.
- Top with an extra sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan for a bubbly, cheesy topping.
Step 5: Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbling with a golden-brown top.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley or green onions.
- Serve warm with crusty bread, tortilla chips, or fresh veggies for dipping.
Notes
- Fresh or Frozen Shrimp: Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor, but thawed frozen shrimp works well too.
- Adjust the Spice Level: Add more cayenne or a splash of hot sauce for extra heat.
- Make Ahead: Prepare the dip up to a day in advance, then bake just before serving.
- Cheese Variations: Experiment with different cheeses like Gruyère, cheddar, or Monterey Jack.
