Instructions
Step 1: Marinate the Beef
- In a mixing bowl, combine the beef slices, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon cornstarch.
- Toss to coat the beef evenly and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
Step 2: Stir-Fry the Beef
- Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Remove the beef from the wok and set it aside.
Step 3: Cook the Vegetables
- In the same wok, add a little more oil if needed.
- Stir-fry the onion and garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the carrots, celery, and snow peas, and stir-fry for 3 minutes.
- Toss in the mushrooms, bean sprouts, and water chestnuts (if using), and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 4: Make the Sauce

- Pour the sauce into the wok and bring it to a gentle simmer.

- Return the cooked beef to the wok and toss to coat everything in the sauce.
- Add the cornstarch-water mixture and stir until the sauce thickens.
