Ingredients
Makes about 4 servings:
-
6 small corn tortillas (or flour if preferred)
-
1½ tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
-
½ tsp salt
Optional Seasoning Add-Ins:
-
½ tsp chili powder
-
¼ tsp garlic powder
-
¼ tsp smoked paprika
-
1 tbsp grated parmesan (for cheesy chips)
-
Lime zest (for a zesty kick)
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Tortillas
Cut each tortilla into 6–8 triangles using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
Place the triangles in a bowl.
Step 2: Season the Chips
Drizzle olive oil over the tortilla pieces.
Sprinkle with salt and any additional seasonings you like.
Toss gently to coat all pieces evenly.
Step 3: Air Fry the Chips
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes.
Place a single layer of tortilla triangles in the air fryer basket.
Don’t overcrowd—work in batches if needed.
Air fry for 5–7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Keep an eye on them during the last minute—they crisp up fast!
Step 4: Cool & Serve
Remove chips and let cool for a few minutes—they’ll crisp up more as they sit.
Serve with salsa, guacamole, hummus, or your favorite dip.
Notes
Single Layer = Crispy Chips – Don’t stack or overcrowd the basket.
Use Corn Tortillas for Authentic Flavor – They crisp better and have a more classic chip taste.
Oil Lightly – Just enough to coat. Too much oil can make them soggy.
Let Them Cool – They finish crisping as they cool outside the air fryer.
Season After Frying for Bold Flavor – Toss in seasoning while still warm for better adhesion.
